Music does not fetch me money – Mark Anim

The soul wining gospel musician and song writer, Mark Anim Werenkye in the music industry has confessed that his music did not fetch him enough money to live the life expected as a musician.

He made this statement in an interview with Nana Kwadwo Juantuah on Solid Fm’s Kantinka morning show “BEHIND THE SONG”.

“Though the music I made were enjoyed by many people  yet I lived a simple life just like any other person not because I chose to do but it was because I did not make money out of the music I recorded “He stated passionately

He further explained that, since I started music in the 1980’s I had suffered a lot in life adding that somewhere in 2005, I had to take a friend’s money to invest my own business.

“My problems became compounded after taking the money because I run at lost in the business. I then have to sell the only car I had to pay my dept. I always had problems with my landlord because I couldn’t pay my rent.

At a pointin time, my children have to stop schooling to stay at home because I could no longer pay their fees.  Actually, i faced a lot of challenges in life at the time”. He lamented.

At that time, the only thing I had was my guitar. I started making some notes with my instrument and eventually came up with my hit making track “De3 mabr3 akoduroyi”.

Though my music did not fetch me money as I expected, I believe the impact of peoples’ lives is much encouraging, therefore, is up to all musicians to make sure their music would have good impact on the listeners.
